Acidic Environment, Fight with a Huge Tactical Advantage

Honey and other bee products such as royal jelly, bee pollen and propolis are composed of the pollen of nearby medical plants. Plants have been battling pathogens since the dawn of time and evolved to synthesize chemicals that kill the bad guys and empower the good. When we consume these plants these chemicals enter our bodies and combat the bad guys.

Herbal medicines come in a variety of forms: tinctures, balms, creams, salves, extracts, spices, teas, etc from any part of the plant. Salt is highly prized in cultures and religions throughout the world. It is believed salt has the power to ward off, cleanse and purify evil spirits. Holy water, which contains salt, is used in many religions with the belief that it cleanses the soul and protects against evil spirits. Egyptians used it to perverse mummified bodies. In many fantasy tales the hero will protect themselves from demons with a ring of salt.

Before refrigeration, salt was used heavily to preserve meats across the world. Salt protects meat from being infected by bad bacteria and fungus. Salt was such an important commodity that the Roman army paid their soldiers in it. Salary comes from the Latin word salarium, which also means "salary" and has the root sal, or "salt."

Salts come in a variety of forms: Baking soda, borax, bile salts, epsom salt, sodium nitrite, etc… Avoid refined table salt. Salt contains a variety of vital minerals which your body needs. I notice refined table salt will make me extremely thirsty while natural salt feels hydrating.

Salt helps create alkalinity and acidity in the body. Salt is needed to pass nutrients from the GI tract to the blood stream. Salt is an electrolyte so it helps regulate the millions of electrical signals shooting through our bodies at any given second. It also regulates the oceans of water in our body.

Before the time of planes and highways, sick people would travel by rail and horse to sanitariums that performed the milk cure. A lot of healing therapies call for24-hour fermented yogurt, like SCD and GAPS Diet. Dairy is filled with lactobacilli which are acid-loving bacteria that produce acid by byproducts. On average yogurt is fermented 8 hours but if we ferment for 24 hours the yogurt becomes more acidic and more anti-pathogenic. Also, the lactobacilli population exponentially increases.
